How well do you know the person sleeping next to you?
The Investigation Discovery series Evil Lives Here follows the stories of people who have discovered that they are sharing their homes with killers.
In each episode, the victim tells the story in their own words. They explain how they met their loved one and the history of the relationship before they reveal how they unearthed their significant other's evil side.
Some cases involve romantic partners, while others focus on the crimes of children — and even housemates.
Episodes include a mother who slowly begins to realize that her 17-year-old son is capable of murder and a woman who married — and had a family, a dog, and white picket fence — with a man who confessed to killing a teenage girl. In time, he went from being her loving husband to her torturer, and subjected her and her children to years of abuse, even shooting the family dog in the head in front of the family.
In many cases, the perpetrator displays a sweet side at first, but over the years, the facade slowly slips away as the victims' lives descend into real-life horror movies. The victims give graphic details about their loved ones' crimes, including red flags they may have missed along the way.
