Virginia Woman At Large After Allegedly Fatally Stabbing Her Mom
Alana Renee Cole, 45, remains at large; authorities say she should be considered dangerous.
Alana Renee Cole [US Marshals Service]
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, VA — According to the U.S. Marshals, on April 25, 2014, Alana Renee Nicole allegedly attacked and stabbed her mother, 67-year-old Lana Sears, inside the home they shared.
Cole has been on the run ever since.
Court papers state that Cole’s sister discovered Sears’ body and called 911. Cole was initially named a person of interest, but she has since been identified as the prime suspect.
Cole reportedly spends vast amounts of time on the Internet, and has a history of mental illness.
Talking to local station WTVR, Kristen Sears, Lana’s other daughter and Cole’s sister, said, “[Tipsters] need to come forward as soon as possible, and say something. This is not a person that needs to be protected; she did something extreme, horrible and devastating."
The Marshals service reports that Cole is interested in fishing, so she may have headed out to waterfront areas.
