CASHMERE, WA — According to court records, a 13-time convicted felon accidentally shot himself in the groin and went to a hospital, where a balloon full of marijuana allegedly slipped out of his anus.
Weeks later, police said, officers strip-searched the suspect and a second marijuana balloon emerged from his anus.
On April 15, Cameron Wilson, 27, was in his apartment when a loaded pistol in the front pocket of his pants discharged and sent a bullet through his testicles and into his thigh, according to a probable-cause affidavit filed in Chelan County Superior Court.
The affidavit alleges that Wilson immediately asked his girlfriend drive him to see a friend who would get rid of the gun. As a 13-time convicted felon, it’s against the law for Wilson to possess a firearm.
From there, the affidavit states, Wilson went to Central Washington Hospital. As a doctor performed surgery on the gunshot wound, a balloon containing marijuana allegedly popped out of the suspect’s anus.
While Wilson was being treated, police said they searched his car and found a bag of meth in the blood-soaked jeans he took off before going inside the hospital. Officers said they issued an arrest warrant for Wilson on suspicion of second-degree felony in possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of meth charges.
On April 18, according to a second probable-cause affidavit, Wilson turned himself in at the Chelan County Regional Justice Center. While being strip-searched, the affidavit alleges, yet another balloon loaded with marijuana fell out of Wilson’s anus.
Police claim Wilson telephoned his girlfriend from jail and asked her not to cooperate with detectives. The calls were recorded and subsequently led to Wilson being charged with four counts of tampering with a witness.
All these run-ins have reportedly led to Wilson being tried in superior court for three different cases.
Records indicate that on May 1, Wilson pleaded not guilty to meth and firearm possession stemming from the testicle-shooting incident. He also reportedly pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility in connection to the strip search. Trials for those two cases are both scheduled for June 18.
On May 20, Wilson reportedly pleaded not guilty to witness tampering. Court docs state he’s slated to be tried for that on July 9.
At present, Wilson is reportedly being held in custody on a combined bail of $110,000.
