BREVARD COUNTY, FL — A Florida man who screamed obscenities while threatening to send his turtle army to destroy the town has been arrested, according to an affidavit.

On Sunday, police in Indialantic received seven calls from Starbucks Coffee, Surfanista Café, and Sassy Granny’s Smoothies regarding an individual who was disturbing the peace.

When they arrived on the scene, they found 61-year-old Thomas Devaney Lane in an agitated state, according to CBS Miami.

Lane was “yelling out obscenities constantly, calling himself 'the saint,' saying his turtle army will destroy them, and stating they would all see what would happen in an hour,” according to police.

After police arrested Lane, he continued screaming at the dispatcher in the lobby while pounding on the walls and glass, police said. He then reportedly left the police station, but officers re-arrested him later at a local 7-Eleven, after he called 911 again.

Lane refused to leave his car and, according to police, continued to rant about how his “turtle army would destroy us.”

Police were able to remove Lane, and he was detained. He is currently being held in Brevard County Jail.

Lane faces multiple charges of breaching the peace, misusing 911, and resisting an officer without violence.
