LOS ANGELES, CA— A driver who led California Highway Patrol officers on a slow-speed chase through the San Fernando Valley ended the pursuit by exiting his vehicle and breakdancing at gunpoint.
The chase began late Tuesday night after the male suspect was allegedly driving recklessly and failing to adhere to officers’ commands that he stop the car.
The driver then led a series of patrol vehicles on a pursuit across multiple freeways, mostly cruising at speeds under 60 mph and once slowing down to 20 mph.
Police were eventually able to halt the driver by spinning out around his car and surrounding him with guns drawn. Finally, the suspect stepped out of his vehicle and broke into a bit of breakdancing.
Following the seemingly impromptu show, officers took the suspect into custody without incident. He has not yet been identified.
