Lana Del Rey famously sang about “Driving in Cars with Boys,” but her alleged stalker, Eric Everardo, won’t be getting behind her wheel anytime soon — again.
In July 2022, the Manhattan native got a court-ordered protection against her alleged stalker, according to TMZ.
Del Rey, born Elizabeth Grant, 37, told authorities Everardo, 21, had been stalking her and visited her home twice.
According to the DailyMail, the “Born to Die” singer said he stole her Jaguar, in February 2022, and was criminally charged for it.
But that wasn’t the end of it. Del Ray claimed Everardo returned in July and left a bag at her gate with an apology letter.
The DailyMail obtained that letter. The first part reads:
“Hi I'm Eric. I'm very f***ing MAD & I do not know how I am alive still but I'am [sic],” he wrote before adding a smiley face and more tiny hearts. “I whole Heartedly apologize for my stupid and wrongful doing and behavior/Actoions [sic].”
Everardo also harassed members of her family. According to TMZ, he texted her sister a few times between his two visits to Del Rey’s home. It’s not clear how he got the number.
In her court filing, Del Rey said she feared for both her safety and the safety of her family members.
The DailyMail reported the restraining order requires Everardo to stay 100 feet away from Del Rey and her brother and sister. He also cannot make any attempts to contact them.
This isn’t the first time Del Rey has had to deal with a stalker.
In January 2022, she was granted a temporary restraining order against Janeen Lee Stratton, who she alleged came to her home on three different occasions, according to TMZ.
Stratton believed she was Del Rey’s muse, and the singer was communicating with her through song and dreams.
Back in 2018, Michael Shawn Hunt, 43, was sentenced to one year in prison for posting threatening messages against the singer and ‘attempting to be with the singer without her consent,’ according to The Fader.
In February 2018, Hunt posted on Facebook a cryptic message that read, "Lana and I will be together, I will likely be going on the rest of her tour with her." He was later arrested outside of her concert in Orlando, Florida. During the arrest, police found two Del Rey concert tickets and a knife on him.
