Ricky Martin is fighting another round of sexual assault claims less than a week after he sued his nephew for previous claims.
According to the Associated Press, Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martin filed a complaint on Sept. 9, 2022, at the police precinct in the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” star’s hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
A spokeswoman for Ricky Martin told the AP that his legal team is evaluating the situation and not making any public statements at this time.
The week before the complaint was filed, Ricky filed a $20 million lawsuit against his nephew for accusing him of incest and abuse, according to the Daily News.
In the lawsuit, Ricky claimed he’s been “persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked, and extorted by a maladjusted person,” as reported by TMZ. He also said he’s lost several multimillion dollar deals because of his nephew’s false allegations.
His nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martin, 21, claimed the two were romantically involved for seven months and Ricky refused to accept the breakup, according to the Daily News. But Dennis dropped the case shortly afterward, admitting there was never a sexual relationship.
In his lawsuit, Ricky claims Dennis would send him up to 10 messages a day, most of them “meaningless diatribes without any particular purpose.” It also accuses him of publishing Ricky’s private number, forcing him to change it.
After the case was dismissed, the Grammy-award winner took to Twitter to declare “truth prevails.”
Details of the current sexual complaint are not public but authorities said no arrests will be made until after a full investigation.
