It's no secret that former FBI agent and profiler Candice DeLong, host of Deadly Women, is Investigation Discovery's queen.
We're obsessed with her intellect, her glamour, her wry humor, and her dedication to justice. In our effort to learn everything about her, we asked her to share some little-known details about herself.
CrimeFeed: Do you have any hobbies or interests your fans would be surprised to know about?
I love to scuba dive and ski, and to wind down, I obsessively play Sudoku on my phone. It's like a sedative for me.
Can you share any beauty tips? Do you have a favorite makeup brand?
I wash my face with a terrycloth washcloth twice a day (no soap). Then I use L'Oréal Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 15 in the morning, and at night I use Olay Regenerist.
When I'm filming Deadly Women, my makeup artists use Make Up For Ever Ultra HD over a silicone primer. When I'm in New York City filming promos, my artist there uses a French foundation by SISLEY, called Phyto Teint Expert.
For the past 32 years, whenever I'm outside, I wear a baseball cap for sun protection. I have a dermabrasion facial about once every two months, and a photo facial or BBL (Broad Band Light) facial once a year.
Additionally, I change my pillowcase every day.
Which wine pairs best with watching Deadly Women?
The 7 Deadly Zins, a California Zinfandel.
Is there a current criminal case in the news that you are interested in?
I've been following the case of the California parents [The Turpins] who were on trial for the extreme and horrible child abuse of their 13 kids. They tortured and starved them for many years until one girl escaped and called the police.
The couple [was] recently sentenced to life in prison. The 13 kids (ages 2 to 29) are recovering slowly. The strangest thing is the mother sobbed at sentencing, but the father seemed unconcerned. It makes me believe he was the "Master" of his slave wife and all of their children.
What is an accomplishment you are proud of that your fans don't already know about?
I was a visiting nurse for many years in the low-income neighborhoods of Chicago and San Francisco. It was the most rewarding work I've ever done, and I miss it dearly.
