Who is predator, and who is prey?

That's the question at the center of the Investigation Discovery series Diabolical, which follows shocking murders and shows the audience the devious tactics that killers use to manipulate and seduce their victims.

Fans of Gone Girl–style twists should love the series, since each episode promises to be full of psychological suspense with all the twists and turns of a true crime thriller.

This new season promises to give viewers a window into the minds of murderers and to show the crimes that were months, and sometimes even years, in the making.

Central to each story is the enigmatic and intriguing killer who begins to exhibit more and more signs of psychopathic behavior. The series will cover multiple cases around the country — from the secret double life of a doctor in Tallahassee, Florida, and his multiple mistresses; to the single mom whose soulmate turns out to be a serial killer.

The thing that they all have in common is a criminal mastermind — and a body count.

Catch the premiere episode of the new season of Diabolical on Tuesday, May 21 at 9/8c on Investigation Discovery!
