UPDATE 03/23/2022
Investigators confirm to ID's "In Pursuit with John Walsh," Leticia Smith, 40, is currently behind bars in the United States. The former fugitive, who fled after allegedly murdering her husband, was on the run since May 2015.
Investigators said they were called to the family home after 35-year-old Antoine Smith had not reported to work for several days. According to a police press release, "Friends and co-workers became increasingly concerned after they received text messages from Antoine’s cellphone number, which were not consistent with Antoine’s messaging style. On May 11, 2015, a missing person report was filed with the Victorville Sheriff’s Station."
Antoine, the victim of a homicide, was found shot multiple times, the release adds. Detectives soon learned his wife, Leticia Smith, allegedly took off with the couple's two young daughters, ages 4 and 8 at the time.
Officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department confirm Smith is behind bars after her arrest in Rosarita, Mexico. According to People, Smith’s bond is set at $2 million and she has a court appearance scheduled for April 4, 2022.
The official motive for the murder has not been released.

Wife Charged With Husband's Murder, On The Run With 2 Daughters
VICTORVILLE, CA — On May 12, 2015, authorities were called to a home in Victorville to perform a check on one of the residents inside. Deputies say 35-year-old Antione Smith had missed several days of work and had not been heard from by anyone.
When authorities entered the house around 8 P.M., they located Antione — but he was deceased. According to a press release, he was found dead in his bedroom and they believe he was a victim of a homicide. The suspect in the murder was later identified as Antoine’s wife, Leticia Smith. The couple had worked together on a military base.
NBC Los Angeles said according to Leticia’s mother, who did not want to be identified, her daughter felt trapped in her marriage and was unhappy with Antoine. The official motive for the murder has not been revealed by the sheriff's department.
A neighbor told the news station the last time they saw Antoine alive, he was arguing with his wife. Another neighbor, identified as Osvaldo Macias, told CBS, “We heard like a shotgun blast go off.”
Investigators say Leticia Smith left the home with their two young daughters, four-year-old Abigail and eight-year-old Isabell. The family was traveling in a 2010 silver four-door Honda Accord with license plate 7FBT742.
Leticia Smith is considered armed and dangerous.
