DC Police Need Your Help Finding Two Fugitives
Both suspects are wanted in separate cases, detectives are hoping someone will come forward with information leading to their whereabouts.
On a warm summer morning on July 12, 2020, D.C. Police say they were called to a home in Northeast for a report of a shooting. According to a press release, officers arrived in the 800 block of 19th Street just after 4 a.m. and found a 28-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside her home.
The victim was identified as Shanika Williams of Northeast, D.C. An investigation revealed the person who allegedly murdered her is 29-year-old Steven Martin Robinson, her boyfriend from Southeast, D.C. Police confirm Robinson was developed as a suspect rather quickly.
He's currently charged with second degree murder while armed and he is on the run.
Less than one month later, on Thursday August 6, 2020, police responded to gunshots in the 600 block of 46th Place, Southeast. The first arriving officers say they found a male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The 26-year-old victim, Michael Brittingham, did not survive his wounds. Additionally, D.C. Police say a second victim walked into a local hospital and was also injured by a gunshot wound. That victim was treated for non-threatening injuries.
According to police, the suspect in the second case is identified as 17-year-old Dreaun Young of Southeast, D.C. Police confirm Young and Brittingham knew one another and the victim was allegedly targeted.
Young is charged with second degree murder while armed. He is also on the run.
