Former fugitive Ryan Rivera-Meister is back in the United States after being extradited, reports said. The 26-year-old suspect, who fled Nebraska after allegedly killing a 16-month-old baby, was highlighted on the second season In Pursuit with John Walsh.

In August 2016, the FBI said Rivera-Meister contacted 911 about a child in his care who was not breathing. "Paramedics found the baby unresponsive and after transporting the baby to a local hospital, it was determined that the baby needed immediate definitive care and was airlifted to a children’s hospital in Aurora, Colorado, where the baby later died as a result of his injuries," the FBI added.

The victim, a baby boy, was the child of his girlfriend. Rivera-Meister was charged with committing child abuse intentionally causing death. He was also facing a federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Reports indicate Rivera-Meister is back in the United States and online records confirm he is currently behind bars at the Hall County Jail in Nebraska.
