On Sept. 20, 2022, Miramar Police confirmed a missing child featured on the Aug. 31, 2022 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh was safely recovered and reunited with her family.

Authorities said Victoria Gonzalez, now 14, vanished from Miramar in September 2021 from New Renaissance Middle School. She was last seen reportedly leaving on foot. Reports indicated she was in the eighth grade. Since that time, her father Enrique Gonzalez has never given up hope she would be found.

7 News reports on the one year anniversary of her disappearance, Victoria's loved ones gathered at River Run Park to hold a vigil for the teen. Enrique, who organized the event, said, “It’s difficult, you don’t know where your daughter is at… You haven’t heard from her in, now a year, so we try to stay busy and keeping going, keep pushing.”

Police said it wasn't long after the local news published a report about the vigil that a brave tipster came forward with information as to where Victoria could be found in Miami Dade. Miramar Police acted on the lead quickly, set up surveillance, and tracked down Victoria.

She was brought from Miami Dade County back to her hometown where she was safely reunited with her family.
