EL PASO, TX: The last time Luis Aragon-Alderete saw the son with whom he shares a first name, the boy was just a toddler. That was five years ago. Luis Alderete-Martinez, who is now six years old, has been missing since then.

Police allege that on June 1, 2015, Regina Martinez — the biological mother of Luis Alderete-Martinez — showed up at the child’s El Paso school and illegally abducted him, intentionally yanking the boy out of his father’s life. Regina Martinez has since been issued a warrant for felony kidnapping.

Authorities believe Regina may have fled with her son to Mexico, but those searching for little Luis have never given up hope or relented in their dedication to bring him home.

In 2018, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created an age-enhanced photo of what Luis would look like at six. Clear Channel Outdoors America then donated billboard space in El Paso to show Luis’s image and other vital information throughout the month of May.

Sadly, that billboard yielded no new leads, but every effort helps. As El Paso Police Sergeant Christine Saiz told a reporter: “Anytime we can get the word out to get any sort of help from the public and even to get the person that’s wanted to see this, we need that child back. He belongs here with his father, in America with his family.”

Talking to the press, desperate dad Luis Aragon-Alderete simply pleaded, “I just want my boy back. I want to see him grow up.”
