CAMDEN, MS — On March 1, 2014, two-year-old Myra Lewis disappeared from her own front yard in Madison County.
Ericka Ledger, Myra’s mom, said that as she stepped out to go to the store, she told the toddler to go inside to be with her dad, Gregory Lewis. Tragically, Myra never made it.
Gregory said he’d been caring for the couple’s one-month-old baby at the time. When Myra didn’t come indoors, Gregory said he searched high and low for the toddler, eventually using his ATV and the family’s dogs. Police K9 officers were also bring in to search, to no avail.
From there, police issued an Amber Alert. An intense series of thorough searches produced no evidence of what might have happened. To date, the active Amber Alert for Myra is the longest running one in Mississippi state history.
A $20,000 reward is being offered to anyone who can find Myra.
