In 2019, police say they began searching for Lee after his girlfriend was found shot and killed. Corretta Bain, a 31-year-old postal worker and mother of three, was murdered in her Hollywood, Fl. apartment.
Coretta's friend, Imona Winds, sat down with Callahan Walsh to talk about what happened on that fateful night. "He took my friend, he took her from her three kids and I just want to know why," Winds said.
Bain's vehicle was taken from the scene and Carnell Spencer Lee, Jr. was soon identified as the alleged suspect. Lee was seen on video leaving the crime scene. Police said the pair only met a few months before through the victim's daughter's school. Lee moved into Bain's home only weeks before the alleged murder.
According to the Hollywood Police Department, Lee walked into their station on his own in November 2020 to turn himself in. Authorities say Lee made this decision because of the pressure his family was receiving because he was on the run.
