On June 7, 2018, Adagio Talifero and his father, Geraldo Talifero, were set to venture out for a sailing trip to Hawaii. Reports said the pair left Nevada City, CA and were supposed to head south. It’s possible they may have reached San Diego, and continued on to their destination, but they were never heard from again.
According to NBC 7, Adagio’s mother, Jinjee Garrick, said at the time:, "I was told that they might go sailing. That's all that I was told. Other family members were told that they were sailing to Hawaii.” Garrick and Talifero divorced in 2013.
Adagio, who was only 14 years old at the time, said he and his father met other folks, owners of a boat, and they were all planning to sail about 200 miles out to sea. NBC 7 reports, “If no one got seasick, then they were going to go on to Hawaii, but if anyone did they'd make a stop in San Diego to drop them off and continue their trip.”
One of the biggest concerns is that only days before the pair were set to leave, no one saw Talifero with his son, according to reports. The trip at sea should have lasted a month and the pair did reportedly have tickets to return home from Hawaii. Those tickets were set to be used on September 1, 2018. Talifero and Adagio did not get on that flight and they have had no contact with anyone since.

Was Adagio at sea with friends? Did his father even make the trip? There are too many questions at this point and not enough answers or tips.
Investigators say Adagio is biracial. When he went missing in 2018, he stood 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 100 pounds. He is known by the nickname, “Dag” and has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a protruding front tooth. He may have since shaved his head or has facial hair.
Geraldo Talifero stood 6 feet tall and in 2018, weighed 180 pounds. He had black hair and brown eyes and was born in 1950.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created an age enhanced photo of what Adagio may look like today. Continue to follow updates at the Find Adagio Facebook page.
