Texas Fugitive Brian Ontiveros Is Wanted For Killing The Mother Of His Child
Marissa Jernigan was a dedicated mom to her young son, Ryder. Marissa’s parents were supportive of everything she’s ever wanted to do, including following her dreams of having a good career and raising her son in San Antonio, TX.
When Marissa became pregnant at a young age, they were there for her in every way possible. Laura and Josh Jernigan had Marissa at a very young age themselves. They didn’t want Marissa to struggle the way they did and at every turn they were there for their grandson. It wasn’t until 2019 that their entire lives fell apart.
On June 8, 2019, Marissa’s mom communicated with her daughter over text. Her mom said she wanted to watch Ryder and Marissa thought that would be a great idea. This was just after 11:30 a.m. Ryder was with other family at the time and Marissa and her mom made plans for him to spend time with them.
Unfortunately, the plan to meet did not happen. Laura said she received a call from Marissa’s friend who said that there was an emergency - Marissa was shot. Laura raced to the hospital, with no idea of how serious her daughter's condition was. Laura remembered thinking that this must have been an accident of some sort.
It wasn’t until doctors came out and broke the news, that Marissa did not make it, that Laura’s entire world came crashing down. Marissa had been shot five times and her killer was on the run.
Back at the crime scene, the apartment where Marssia was living with a friend, investigators collected evidence and processed the scene. Detectives learned that a suspect had gained access to the side of Marissa’s apartment complex, and was seen scaling the side of the building that Saturday morning. The suspect then allegedly entered through the sliding glass door. According to authorities there was an argument inside the apartment and Marissa was shot and killed.

Investigators soon learned the killer was allegedly Brian Ontiveros, the victim’s ex-boyfriend and father of her young son.
After the murder, according to US Marshals, Ontiveros went to his brother’s house nearby in San Antonio, TX. Authorities believe Ontiveros sold his motorcycle and hitched a ride with someone to the Nuevo Lardeo, Mexico area. Ontiveros’ brother’s vehicle was seen crossing the border. According to the US Marshals, when they pulled the video, Ontiveros’ brother was in the driver's seat and Ontiveros was a passenger in the car.
Authorities believe he made contact with his father in Mexico and possibly even other family members.
In the time after Marissa’s murder, Marissa’s family said Ontiveros was taunting them online. US Marshals also confirm to In Pursuit Ontiveros opened an account on an adult website, and posted ilitict photos and videos of Marissa online.
Ontiveros stands 5 feet 11 inches tall, and when he disappeared he weighed 160 pounds. He was 22-years-old when the murdered occured. At one point, he had his top lips pierced in two sections where his mustache would be, in the area below his nostrils. He previously wore a number of earrings in both ears, including large gages.
Since being on the run authorities said Ontiveros remains online and has a massive tattoo now on the left side of his neck that reads “Money over Bitches.”
US Marshals believe Ontiveros is armed and dangerous.
