Pennsylvania police say they have arrested a woman who is allegedly connected to the abduction of a two-year-old girl last Saturday. The suspect reportedly told investigators the child's father sold the toddler . The girl remains missing, and authorities are actively looking for her.

Sharena Nancy, 25, is accused of driving away with two-year-old Nalani Johnson, according to the Penn Hills Borough Police Department . After being arrested, Nancy allegedly told investigators the child's father, Paul Johnson, claimed he’d sold Nalani for $10,000 and asked her to transport the child to the buyer, who was "20 minutes" away from a gas station. Nancy allegedly said Johnson showed her a picture of a "black woman" he identified as the buyer and said the woman would "flag" down the rideshare vehicle.

According to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, the criminal complaint states Paul Johnson told police he and Nalani were picked up in a rideshare vehicle driven by Nancy on Saturday. Upon reaching their destination, Johnson allegedly said he stepped out of the car and then tried to retrieve Nalani, but Nancy sped off and took the toddler with her. Johnson reportedly called 911 to report the abduction at around 5:00 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m., officers reportedly arrested Nancy during a traffic stop. Nalani was not inside the vehicle, according to KDKA-2.

From there, the police claim, Nancy allegedly said she’d delivered Nalani to a woman who was driving a silver SUV with out-of-state license plates. Nancy reportedly said she saw a second woman inside the SUV.

Police say Nancy faces charges of kidnapping a minor, interference with custody of children and concealment of the whereabouts of a child. Paul Johnson has not been charged, according to court records.

The Pittsburgh office of the FBI has reportedly joined Alleghany authorities in the search for Nalani.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Nalani will turn two on September 15. She is described as a black female with black hair and brown eyes who stands three feet tall and weighs 30 pounds. Nalani was reportedly last seen wearing a black shirt, a skirt with a floral design, and black sandals.
