NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL — Shocking surveillance footage from a bank in North Miami Beach shows the moment an ATM user was fatally shot by a man who approached him while he withdrew cash.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office released new surveillance video on Tuesday of the November 1 armed robbery and fatal shooting of 26-year-old Dillon Bud Calvin Steve.
The video shows Steve using the ATM. In the background, a man wearing a black hoodie, who was later identified as murder suspect Marcine Bernard Hill, can be seen approaching him slowly from behind.
As Steve continues with his transaction, he seems to notice that someone is getting closer.
After withdrawing the money, Steve turns around — and then the two men get into an altercation. Steve drops the cash, and then, when Hill leans down to pick it up, Steve lunges at him.
Hill begins to run away, and Steve attempts to chase him. But after a few steps, Steve stops and clutches his chest. He then staggers toward a van, where his mother has been waiting for him, before collapsing in the parking lot.

Steve later died at the hospital. Hill escaped with $260, according to police.
Hill, 17, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of murder and armed robbery in connection with the killing, The Miami Herald reports. Because he is a minor, Hill is not eligible for the death penalty, but he could face up to life in prison if convicted.
Hill’s attorney declined to comment on the video, according to the Miami Herald.
