Video: Young Mom Denise Amber Lee Kidnapped In Broad Daylight
Kidnapped in broad daylight at home with her children present, she bravely made a 911 call, however a tragic mistake would seal her fate.
On January 17, 2008, young Florida mother Denise Amber Lee was abducted from her home around 2pm ET, with her children present, and would be dead by the end of the day. From the moment she was kidnapped until her death several hours later, a succession of 911 calls had been placed related to her plight, one of which was made by Amber herself. The daughter of a Florida detective, Amber was able to take her abductor's phone and in a heartwrenching exchange provided details to the dispatcher while making it appear that she was speaking to her tormentor. She was abruptly cut off from continuing the call. One of the calls was made by a woman in traffic who heard screaming coming from a car next to her. The call was mishandled with potentially lethal consequences.
