Allahnia Lenoir was last caught on camera by security surveillance on July 30, 2022. The footage showed the 24-year-old woman entering an apartment complex in Atlanta, but she was never seen leaving. Nobody has heard from her since then, and her family has been searching and hoping for her return ever since.
On Aug. 1, Allahnia’s mother, Jannette Jackson reported her daughter missing to the Atlanta Police Department, according to NBC News. Jackson said that Allahnia was hanging out with a close family friend and two guys at the 1660 Peachtree Midtown Apartments on the night of July 30, 2022. After the family friend left the hangout early, she later called Allahnia’s house to see if she’d made it home. She never did.
On Sept. 20, 2022, the Atlanta police held a press conference, and they shared their belief that Lenoir was murdered and that her body was then discarded or hidden somewhere.
"We do know that she did not at any point leave 1660 Peachtree Street on her own accord. We do believe that she had died inside the apartment and then was potentially relocated to an undetermined location,” Atlanta Police Major Peter Malecki shared at the press conference, according to PEOPLE.
The police also shared that suspect Diante Reynolds has been arrested and they are still looking for another person — Steve Oboite. Reynolds and Oboite are being charged with felony murder and felony concealing a death. They are both 29 years old.
It’s believed that Oboite is hiding out in the Atlanta area. Lenoir’s family are still desperately looking for answers. They hired a private investigator in the aftermath of the young woman’s death, and Malecki believes that Obiote does know Lenoir’s whereabouts. He’s hopeful that they will be able to get that information from Obiote when he is apprehended.
