18-Year-Old Seemingly Abducted From Nevada Walmart Parking Lot
Naomi Irion, 18, seems to have been abducted from a Walmart parking lot in Fernley, Nevada. She was last seen around 5 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, in the store’s parking lot, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
The teen was waiting in the parking lot for a shuttle to take her to her job when, according to her older brother Casey Valley, 32, a man came up to her and coaxed his way into her car. News 4 also reported that Valley and his family do not believe this was a random act and that the suspected abductor knew Naomi.
“He circled around the parking lot maybe to make sure there were no witnesses,” Valley said, according to NBC News. “He came up behind the car and forced his way into the driver’s side of the car. Maybe her door was unlocked. He either said or did something to make her move to the passenger seat, and then he drove her car away into an unknown direction.”
A four-door sedan belonging to Irion was later recovered not far from the Walmart, and the police believe that the suspect could now be driving a dark, newer model Chevrolet High Country pickup.
Tamara Cartwright, Irion's sister, has taken to TikTok to spread the word about her the case. In her videos, she gives details about where her sister's car was found, the suspect, and identifying features of her sister.
The Lyon County’s Sheriff’s Office announced that they are still actively looking for Naomi Irion. They will be holding a press conference on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 9 a.m. Pacific.
Meanwhile, Lyon County investigators encourage anyone with information to call Lyon County Dispatch at 775-463-6620 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
