Four California family members kidnapped, found dead two days later
Jasleen Kaur, 27, Jasdeep Singh, 36, and their 8-month-old baby, Aroohi Dheri — as well as the baby's uncle, Amandeep Singh, 39 — were "taken against their will” on Oct. 3 from their business in Merced, California. Their four bodies were found in an orchard by a farmworker two days later. Detectives from Merced County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 48-year-old Jesus Manuel Salgado after receiving information from a bank that he had used one of the victims' ATM cards. He is currently in police custody.

Two people dead, six wounded after a mass stabbing on the Las Vegas strip
According to witnesses on the Las Vegas strip, on Oct. 6, Yoni Barrios, 32, said that he was a chef who wanted to take a picture with some of the showgirls with his knife, but he started stabbing people when the group declined the man’s offer. The suspect then headed south and stabbed others. Two victims, Brent Allan Hallett, 47, and Maris Mareen Digiovanni, 30, both Las Vegas residents, died from their injuries. Six others were wounded. Barrios is currently being held in the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder.
